Description:
This course provides an overall introduction to the US securities marketplace. This is a foundation course that introduces many of the concepts that will be discussed in more detail in other courses.

Learning Objectives:
When you have completed this course you should be able to answer the following questions:
- What is the Primary role of the Financial Markets?
- Who are the primary participants in the US Securities Industry?
- What are the major steps in the Investment Process?
- What are there different categories of investment instruments?
- What are the different business concepts that drive the major participants?
- What are the major steps in trade processing
- What are the major activities in post-trade processing?
- What are the major regulations that affect the securities industry?

Format:
This course is organized into learning modules. There are quizzes after each module to reinforce the material presented. A final test at the end assesses the information learned from the whole course. (Test and quiz scores do not count if the learner is not registered for the SIP Credential)

SIP Credential:

To receive credit for the Level 1 Credential, a minimum passing grade of 90% on the final test is required.

Validity Period:
Registration will be good for up to 1 year from the registration date. There will be a $50 fee if an extension is required.
