Submitting CE Credits


20 credit hours are required annually to maintain certification for both Master and Specialist certifications.

CSPM & CSPS Continuing Education Requirements

12 credit hours are required annually to maintain certification for both Master and Specialist certifications

Continuing Education (CE) credits can be earned by attending courses offered by SOF and other educational firms, attending securities industry events such as seminars, workshops and conferences, and taking in-house courses offered by the certification holder's own firm.

The credit available for individual activity types is listed below.

Pre-approved once completed. These activity types do not need to be submitted and will be up-dated automatically into your CE credit history.

The amount of credit for these activity types is listed as a guide only. Actual amount of credit granted will be contingent on the actual activity upon review by SOF. Each of these activities must be submitted through the online form on this website with a description of the activity.

Classroom courses offered by SOF, outside of the Credential Program

1 credit per class hour

eLearning courses offered by SOF, outside of the Credential Program

Speaking roles at conferences sponsored by ISITC-IOA or SOF

5 credits per speech

Committee activity for ISITC-IOA (Chairperson or Co-Chair)

10 credits per year

ISITC Committee and Working Group participation

Up to 5 credits per year and approved by the Chairperson

Attendance at ISITC conferences or Working Group Meetings

5 credits per conference day; 3 credits for a half day

Submitting articles to the Journal of Securities Operations that are published

5 credits per article

Committee participation for other industry associations

7 credits per year

Courses presented by industry associations, such as SIA, ABA, ICI, etc.

1 credit per class hour

Courses provided by the candidate's own firm

1 credit per class hour

Conferences offered by industry associations, such as SIA, ABA, ICI, etc.

3 credits per conference day

Conferences offered by professional organizations, such as IIR, IBC, etc.

2 credits per conference day

Teaching of industry related courses 1 credit per class hour
