Description:
The key objective of any Corporate Actions Department is to ensure the timely and accurate communication and processing of Corporate Actions data, which is diverse and time sensitive in nature.

This course describes in detail the process steps within the Corporate Actions life cycle, from initial event notification to actual entitlement posting, accounting and agent / depository reconciliation.

Learning Objectives:
When you have completed this course you should be able to answer the following questions:
- What are the roles and objectives of the Corporate Actions Department?
- How are the initial notices received and validated?
- How are Client eligibility and related entitlements determined?
- When and how are Clients notified?
- When and how does entitlement posting occur?
- How is the response process managed (for voluntary offers / election options)?
- Describe the reconciliation process for Corporate Action activity and related controls to manage operational risk.
- What types of accounting entries are processed for the various Corporate Action types?
- What are the associated tax accounting considerations of Corporate Actions?

Format:
This course is organized into learning modules. There are quizzes after each module to reinforce the material presented. A final test at the end assesses the information learned from the whole course. (Test and quiz scores do not count if the learner is not registered for the SIP Credential)

SIP Credential:

To receive credit for the Level 2 Credential, a minimum passing grade of 90% on the final test is required.

Validity Period:
Registration will be good for up to 1 year from the registration date. There will be a $50 fee if an extension is required.
