ABOUT Hal McIntyre

Hal McIntyre has over 30 years of securities industry management experience, including 16 years at Citibank. Prior to establishing The Summit Group in 1991, Hal managed numerous banking and securities functions for Citibank, including marketing, operations, and technology. During his last four years at Citibank, he managed a systems division of over 300 people who supported Citibank's worldwide securities processing applications.

While at Citibank, he spent four years in Zurich as the head of Operations and Technology for Citibank's Swiss Investment and Private Banks, and was the Chief Administrative Officer for Citicorp Investment Bank.

Hal is a Managing Partner of The Summit Group, which, with over fifty employees, provides comprehensive services in Management Consulting, Market Research, and Systems Integration to major banks, brokers, investment managers, and other financial institutions around the world.

A Summit Group subsidiary, Securities Operations Forum, is a leading supplier of education to the securities industry. Securities Operations Forum conducts open enrollment classes and customized training for over 2,500 people each year throughout the US on processing topics such as Derivatives, Corporate Actions, Reconcilements, etc.; and annually presents ten to twelve major conferences on key securities industry issues.  SOF has recently developed a range of eLearning courses that are used by securities firms around the world.

Hal McIntyre has a Bachelor of Arts in Industrial Psychology from Miami University and a MBA from Southern Illinois University. He has taught graduate and undergraduate courses at Fairleigh Dickenson University, and has been a guest lecturer at the University of Massachusetts. He is frequently quoted in publications such as American Banker and Institutional Investor, and is a regular speaker at securities industry conferences around the world.

He has written extensively for the financial services industry and has recently completed the Securities Operations Glossary, and How the US Securities Industry Works, both published by The Summit Group Press.
