Reconciliation of data and management of exceptions are two of the industry's most critical operations management activities. In the past, the most undetected, yet prevalent causes of conflict and error have been poor data quality and data inaccessibility; however, reconciliation systems are now addressing this problem. Traditional manual post-settlement trade and cash reconciliation processes are being replaced with systems covering the complete transaction life cycle. With unlimited matching capabilities to handle complex data transformation and generic reconciliation, these new comprehensive and reliable systems can identify accidental errors in data entry, potential misunderstandings, and data standardization. This results in a faster identification of exceptions, improved clearance rates, and faster resolution time.
Exception management is an integral part of operations management and once exceptions have been identified, a structured, systematic resolution is necessary. Identifying exceptions as they occur and automatically resolving them using the new broad reconciliation and exception management workflow tools reduces operational risk and cost, and is an essential building block of STP.
This 5th annual conference brings together leading custodians, securities, and investment management firms as well as technology providers to discuss the latest trends and methodologies in the implementation, processing, and automation practices of reconciliations and exceptions management. Attendees will hear the challenges that are faced by all segments of the financial services industry, as well as practical industry-tested solutions.
In addition, a concurrent Vendor Exhibit will feature displays by leading reconciliation and exception management solution providers. |
