The trend towards securities market globalization is clear, with issuers and investors demanding global alternatives to raise and invest funds. After years of false starts, a true global infrastructure is beginning to take shape to support the increasing volume of cross-border trading. Because cross-border trading volumes have been increasing due to investor demand, the barriers and challenges of clearing and settlement must be resolved.
The international securities industry has been focusing on the development of efficient and consistent infrastructures for the regulation, trading and processing of cross-border trading activity. Depositories, clearinghouses, regulators, investment managers, custodians and broker-dealers are dedicating increased resources to manage the risks and increase the efficiencies associated with global clearance, settlement and asset servicing. Industry groups and government organizations have proposed complex and comprehensive models for implementing appropriate cost and risk controls.
This conference, in its third year, brings together industry practitioners and leading vendors to explore the various industry initiatives and solutions to deal with global securities processing from trade to settlement.
This event will be of interest to Heads of Operations, Clearing, Settlement and Custody, as well as Directors of Operations, Corporate Actions and Reconciliation Managers.
